climateAlthough it benefits from a temperate climate Bulgaria has cold winters with heavy snowfall especially in mountainous regions.

Summer in Bulgaria is very hot with temperatures in the far south sometimes exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Along the Black sea coast the summer climate has a warm Mediterranean influence with an average summer temperature of around 28 degrees Celsius and over 300 hours of sunshine in July and August.

In the higher mountain regions of area such as the Balkans the climate is Alpine with a spectacular geography of glacial lakes and deep forested valleys.
